Your point about drawing for pleasure was a nice reminder too. I sometimes forget I started drawing and painting because I enjoyed doing it. Most of my work that I do nowadays is for school and I feel like it has to be of a certain standard for my sketchbook and I put a lot of pressure on myself. I used to get so lost in drawings and I would enjoy myself so much. I have started keeping a little notebook for quick fun sketches in between all my school work. Even with notebooks I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I feel like every page has to be a piece of art. It definitely does help if you tell yourself "right, no pressure, no one else ever has to see this, it doesn't have to be good, I'm just going to have FUN". Hell, you don't even have to have a detailed look at it yourself! I think just the process of drawing without your thoughts getting in the way can be really great in firing up inspiration. :-)Emmeline Pidgen Illustrationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04021046551255001645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1015750513235879409.post-69051433829772084302015-08-13T14:19:54.447+01:002015-08-13T14:19:54.447+01:00Such beautiful notebooks and illustrations! I so agree with the idea of stream-of-consciousness drawing though I'm really struggling with it at the moment, haha!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07031393078724991091noreply@blogger.com
