It's a perfect Summer's day, so it was just the right time to put on this beautious Poppy England dress. Poppy England are a lovely little company inspired by picture books, making dresses for little'uns and grown ups (I've been a fan for ages!). They sent me this Beatrice Boats dress to feature in this project, along with a teeny tiny illustrated book that comes with each item.

So here's me, sporting a vintage shirt I nabbed for a ridiculous £1 from a charity shop, my trusty black jeans, burgandy cowgirl boots, cracked-screen smartphone and a Cass Art 'Opera Rose' bag I got free for stocking up ferociously on ink and paintbrush supplies. Day 9, feelin' fine.

Today I'm feeling casual. Casual...but excited, because I'm wearing this beautiful lavender blue Ripple necklace sent to me by Wolf & Moon. I fell in love with Wolf & Moon's jewellery after seeing their stall at Festival No.6 last year. The ripple necklace from their new Fjordland collection is super versatile and can be dressed down (like me in my lazy shirt and jeans!) or up with a fancier ensemble - I'm probably going to be wearing it in more than one of these illustrations! Beautiful!

I'm heading in to Manchester today to be on the judging panel for the Manchester Creative Studio's illustration brief. Should be a fun day! I can't wait to see what the students have been illustrating.

I took part in Offlife Comic's #QuickDraw challenge again tonight (my second ever week!) and had an hour to create an illustration based on the theme 'Ways I escape from the heat...'.
This was a speedy idea, as I so, so nearly did this exact thing in Tesco yesterday. But to avoid a telling-off and, y'know, a barrage of side-eyes, I settled for wafting my arms around the pizza section acting as if I didn't decide ten minutes ago which pizza I was going to buy. Smooth.
I'm all for the drawing challenges at the moment! If you haven't already seen, I've just started a drawing my outfit on each day in July - it's going to be tough, but exciting! See the first two here.
It's still ridiculously warm here today, so I've kept it simple as I take some time out to sketch in the sunshine.
Today I'm wearing classic Swedish footwear makers Moheda's pretty Betty clogs. The straps remind me of strips of bubblegum from my childhood! They're super beautiful. Pink and aqua and monochrome stripes forever.

After a string of comments asking if I would make my 'What I Wore' illustrations into a regular project, I thought it would be a great challenge to illustrate my outfit for each day in July this year.
Illustration-a-day challenges are a great way to jump up that learning curve and really hone your skills. After Inktober and Illustrated Advent last year, I realised that they're a brilliant way to stay motivated and productive, even if it is tricky to squeeze in the time!
For this self-set challenge, I'm going to be creating an illustration like this for 31 days this month, and linking to some of the statement pieces in the outfits. I have some great brands on board supporting me with this project (Cath Kidson, Clarks, Moheda, Poppy England etc) and I'm really excited.
