As a great little warm up project for the start of 2015, I was asked to illustrate this month's Draw North West poster. You may have seen my post about DNW a few months ago, and hopefully you've popped down to one yourself, but in the simplest form: Draw North West is a Manchester meet up for creatives to chat, drink and scribble silly things.
I've been going to DNW since the first meet a good few years ago, and I've met so many brilliant people so far. It's definitely worth dragging yourself away from the ol' desk and heading to these sorts of creative gatherings - at least you'll be spending time disconnected from the internet, and you might well just come back with a bucketful of inspiration!
The next meetup is 27th January, 7:30pm in the Kosmonaut Bar basement (Tariff Street, Manchester NQ). Hopefully see you there!
Kicking off 2015 with a fun illustration gig for Draw North West! Remember my previous posts about them? It's a fantastic Manchester meetup for creatives – think chatting, drinks, and drawing silly stuff. Imagine the creative energy! It's almost like trying to maintain control in the game Drift Boss , but instead of a car, you're steering ideas. Good times!

The essence of community gatherings shines through events like Draw North West, where creatives unite to share ideas. Similarly, I once found solace in a local art meet-up, where my ideas flowed as freely as the coffee. It was there, amidst laughter and inspiration, that I truly felt like a Slice Master of creativity. Engaging with others can be so refreshing, igniting new passions and ideas.
ReplyDeleteAs a creative professional, I completely resonate with the value of community meetups like Draw North West. These gatherings are incredible opportunities to break the isolation of desk work and connect with fellow artists. I've attended similar creative networking events, and they've been transformative for my inspiration and professional growth. Meeting like-minded individuals who share your passion can reignite your creative spark and provide fresh perspectives. The casual, supportive environment of these meetups allows for genuine connections and spontaneous collaboration. If you're feeling stuck or disconnected, I highly recommend seeking out local creative communities.
